One billion people across the globe of all ages – one eighth of our human community – are dependent on health, disability and/or care and protective systems and providers. I wrote this book in response to questions from people living and working in Camphill communities who wanted to know what sources inform Transform and Empower seminars and practice, and how it developed. The book follows particular threads in my life that merge in this approach - teachers, concepts, experiences, ideas, people, motivations and influences. I have explored aspects of the development of Camphill communities from a human rights and civil society perspective.
