SUMMARY:All of Us in All of This Together: The Voice of Our Youth and The Ears of Our Elders
DESCRIPTION:7 Day Process Work and Worldwork Clinic\nFacilitators: Drs. Ellen and Max Schupbach\, DDI Team and Everyone \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe inner work of the coach and facilitator informs their ability to recognize and work with outer polarizations. In our encounters with other beings\, we often come to crossroads where we see ourselves in relation to the “other”. We experience curiosity\, indifference\, repulsion\, attraction\, judgement\, and other unintended pleasant or not so pleasant reactions.\nRecognizing and unfolding these experiences to discover and unfold their essence and understand their meaning is an alchemical process for both individuals and groups. The learning and growing process is not an isolated journey; we learn from and with one another in diverse environments and grow together in a transformational bath.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHello dear friends and colleagues \nWe are very excited to send you this announcement for our October Intensive Course\, this year in a new format: A Process Work and Worldwork Clinic. \nAll of us in All of this Together \nis taking place in Granada\, Spain and Online Everywhere \nfrom October 7-13\, 2024 \nat the Hotel Abades Nevada Palace \nIn this announcement\, you will find: \n• summary of the course \n• the hosting details\, including conference location for the f2f part\, and information about the online setup and format \n• a fully refundable registration option for the early bird fees online or f-2-f expiring July 24th (fully refundable till Sept 9) \nClick Click HERE to Register! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this year’s clinic\, we will experiment with using Process Work in the flow of life and work with all its possible applications. Personal inner work (also in public during group hotspots)\, relationship work\, body work including movement\, and more – and of course large and small group facilitation as they emerge during the flow of the day\, focusing on unfolding skills and attitudes.\n\nThis is a hybrid event\, with online participants everywhere and in person participants in Granada.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProcess Work\, developed by Arnold Mindell\, is multi-dimensional approach tying together modern physics with current psychology and ancient cosmologies. Worldwork refers to Process Work in large and small group facilitation. It especially addresses systemic marginalization and conflict resolution processes. Deep Democracy is Mindell’s term for the awareness process regarding diversity issues within a person’s inner life\, in the community or organizational lives of groups\, and in the public discourse at large. \nProcess Work is a paradigm on its own that can be applied for differentiating sociological processes affecting groups\, communities and individuals (Roles and Ghostroles) – psychological processes (subjective experiences of energies and Dreaming) and spiritual processes (essences that go beyond polarizations). This approach is used to work with the entire spectrum of human experiences: body symptoms\, relationship processes\, altered states and addictions\, loss and grief\, comatose states\, anxieties\, etc.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClinic is a term for a learning event where you act\, practice and learn at the same time.\nIn our “everyday” lives\, we are everything! We are our own facilitators\, clients\, leaders\, followers\, learners and researchers; in professional private settings\, in our inner lives\, and in our night dreams – with life as our final teacher and patron. \nProcess Work has applications in key areas of our collective and individual lives\, including; Body-experiences\, Relationships\, Innerwork\, Altered and Extreme states\, Conflict Resolution\, and Large + Small Group Work. \nFor facilitators\, coaches\, leaders\, activists and practitioners in many walks of life\, these are relevant intertwining aspects that come into play in a variety of ways. During this clinic\, we will study\, learn and practice the range of these different areas and focus on the significance of this multidimensional knowledge and awareness within the context of your own life. \nWe hope to learn and grow together by researching and practicing:\n\nInner Work in public during conflict – the elixir that brings flow to cycling conflicts\nWorking with intended and unintended escalations by the “other”\, both personal and systemic – the elixir for creating safety and community.\nDifferentiating roles and the individuals (all of us!) who fill them – the elixir to bring systemic change to communities.\nFluidity with recognizing and working with diverse awareness levels\, and deconstructing/unfolding edges. “Edge” is the Process Work term for a collective or personal role that blocks flow.\nMethods and tools for identifying and working with body disturbances\, altered and extreme states\, and relationship tensions.\n\nThese points are our learning focuses – we will practice as they come up\, and also in designated slots of inner work exercises\, large and small group processes\, individual work within fishbowl settings\, and theoretical presentations and discussions. We will apply these modalities according to the flow of the course and our collective learning process. \nThe Clinic is open to everyone – beginners\, seasoned practitioners\, and everyone in between! However\, the learning focus for each will of course be individual and diverse. Your learning focus might be more on eldership\, leadership\, personal work\, or professional practice\, and might change as the days go by. \nDaily Format:\n\n10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – working in our large group\n4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – working in small groups (fixed small groups for all 7 days with daily changing small group facilitation of participants)\n5:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – completing processes\, triad learning time\, daily closure space\nThursday\, Oct 9th\, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. only\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBelow are the course fees for this year’s Intensive. We slashed them by 30 % from previous years to counteract effects of global crises and inflation.\n\nCourse Fee :\nF-2-F Granada: 980 Euro\nEarly Bird: 890 Euro (expires July 24)\nOnline: 580 Euro\nEarly Bird: 490 Euro (expires July 24)\nScholarships are available! Please write to mpere@deepdemocracyinstitute.org\n***course fee for Granada includes coffee and tea (meals + lodging are not included) \nAfter registration\, you will receive a discount code for the hotel if you choose to stay there\, as well as access to assistance from our local team.

SUMMARY:Depth coaching with a client: a processwork training seminar - Deep Democracy Institute\, Bangkok
DESCRIPTION:A Process Work Training for Working with Individuals \nProcess Work and Deep Democracy\, developed by Arnold Mindell\, is a depth psychology approach\, continuing and expanding the Analytical Psychology approach of C.G. Jung. It can assist each of us in discovering and relating to our deepest part\, a distinct pattern that magically organizes our experiences and is at the root of our gifts and talents. \nWhen we take the “Dreaming Process” seriously\, our lives become more creative\, our experiences of who we are become more authentic\, and the need to satisfy the more conventional expectations of our surroundings diminishes. Navigating these waters together with a depth coach will bring more authenticity to our lives\, deeper fulfillment\, and discovery of hidden talents and gifts. \nThis weekend is a training for coaches and students focused on working with individual clients. We will demonstrate and practice how to discover and understand hidden information in the presenting issues of our clients\, assist them in unfolding the deeper meaning and connect them to the dreaming power in their lives. The traditional depth psychology approach of Freud and Jung draws this information from night dreams only. Mindell’s research allows us to also approach body symptoms\, relationship issues and other experiences with the same mindset and skills applied to night dreams\, using them to discover “the Process”. \nYou will learn to: \n• Make initial assessment of the client’s process \n• Differentiate primary (everyday consciousness) and secondary (dreamlike) information in the presenting problem \n• Work with a client at the edge to facilitate the tension between inner life/dreaming processes and outer everyday requirements of life \n• Facilitate integration and change\, the magic of personal development and how to support a client on their developmental journey \n• Facilitate the Depth Coaching relationship: love\, conflict\, boundaries and Process \nThis weekend will not include group process facilitation training.

SUMMARY:Open Sesame: The Process at the Edge – Deep Democracy Institute\, Bangkok
DESCRIPTION:The micromechanics of change – working with fear of the unknown and addiction to the status quo\nPresenters: Drs. Ellen and Max Schupbach\nCome and co-create an exploration and training space to learn together how to expand the individual and cultural boundaries of your own identity\, to coach others on their edges\, and to use Deep Democracy facilitation with teams and organizations at the edge – looking for the courage to venture on the journey of change. \nOur identities\, individual and collective\, act like prisons\, limiting our freedom to recognize and co-create change. The prison walls are made of past hurtful experiences\, inner critics whose comments are meant to keep us in check. They are held up by a trancelike acceptance of what “common sense” considers possible and normal\, habits that we know we should shed\, and expectations of others about how we should behave. \nWorking at the Edge is a science and art central to Process Work that assists to discover your own brand of courage\, faith\, and temperament to understand and cross your edges and take your deepest experiences seriously\, change yourself and change your life. This is not only the pathway for an inspiring journey and a fulfilling life\, but also the foundation to understand your client’s reluctance to change\, and the ground on which you can stand to face “head on” the difficulties in your community and facilitate solutions. \nWe will demonstrate and practice the complex\, precise experiences of individuals\, teams and organizations at the edge – the limen where “who you are” is about to become “who you were” – and the skills and attitudes to facilitate this change and to implement it as a new reality. Your dreaming reality\, the experiences beyond the edge\, is unpredictable and magic. It is the “Open Sesame” that breathes new life into your perspectives\, rejuvenates teams and transforms organizations. We look forward to an intensive\, interactive\, practice focused learning lab that will include experiential work in pairs\, theoretical framing\, and interactive discussion. This seminar will also include group process. The workshop is for all who are interested in change and the power of awareness for themselves\, their clients and/or their communities. We will practice together inner work with our own processes\, and facilitating individuals and groups at the edge of change. \n* If you are new to process work\, we will send you a link to more detailed information upon registration. \n** For students and practitioners\, expect detailed\, innovative approaches to dance and flow in your edgework.

SUMMARY:Discovering our evolution - 10 day deep democracy intensive - Cairo
DESCRIPTION:From faculty leaders: Drs. Ellen and Max Schupbach\nDear friends\, \nWe are excited to invite you to our first Intensive in a Muslim majority country – and in Egypt\, with its historical role in human evolution. \nCome and discover together the natural flow of evolution hidden behind polarizations and conflicts. Learn to use your eldership\, the ability to hold and facilitate hotspots and co-create natural dialogue spaces by developing a deep understanding of the processes of diverse\, often highly polarized parties. Practice using your awareness to notice and frame the natural occurrence of unity present in every system\, understand different phases in short- and long-term consensus forming processes\, and work with a system in each of these phases. \nOur approach\nDeep Democracy (also called Process Work) is a global\, whole system approach to facilitate change\, self-realization\, and self-discovery for individuals\, families\, teams\, organizations\, and governments. Practice using your awareness to notice and frame the natural occurrence of unity present in every system\, understand different phases in short- and long-term consensus forming processes\, and work with groups in each of these phases.  \nThe personal development of the facilitator receives the same amount of focus in our Intensives as does the practice of group facilitation. Fluidity in your inner work and accuracy in your group work are closely connected prerequisites for impactful facilitation and leadership. Eldership\, your personal development in relationship to the whole\, and Deep Democracy practices\, the discovery and facilitation of hidden force lines that organize communities – and conflicts – can be learned as a standalone approach for coaching\, facilitation and leadership\, or as an addition and enhancement to your own facilitation and leadership approach.  \nThe learning journey\nThis is a full immersion learning experience including linear\, theoretical learning in mini-lecture style\, inner work and personal development in dyads\, and group facilitation practice with other learners. Daily tutorials will be held for individuals that would like further study of the Process Work paradigm. There will be opportunities for individual coaching\, case presentation\, and case studies.  \nThe Deep Democracy Institute\nDDI was founded in 2006\, with the vision to research Deep Democracy and Process Work applications in the areas of leadership and organizational development. As a think tank and training institute\, it partners with governments\, universities\, and organizations worldwide to study new leadership developments and multi-stakeholder dialogues for individuals\, groups and nations. DDI trainings and open forums have been held in over 20 different countries. Our main training centers are in San Francisco\, Amsterdam\, Kyiv\, Moscow\, Nairobi\, Bangkok and Cairo.  \nOur Learning Community\nTypically\, the group is composed of about 100 participants from Europe\, Africa\, the Middle East\, Australia\, Asia\, and the Americas\, and includes business and NGO leaders\, artists\, scientists\, politicians\, journalists\, coaches and therapists\, change management experts\, and community leaders. Additionally\, participants represent different religions and spiritual communities\, as well as different political directions. They hold opposing views on just about anything and everything; however\, they also share the belief that awareness and facilitation can make our personal development and the development of organizations and nations less difficult and more effective.

SUMMARY:Deep Democracy\, Dreams and your Body - DDI Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Deep Democracy Institute Thailand Seminar\nDeep Democracy\, Dreams and your Body\nIn this three-day seminar\, we will demonstrate and practice skills for working with acute and chronic experiences of body symptoms to find their connections to the Dreaming Process\, the underlying deeper narrative of your personal journey and development.  Awareness and understanding of your deep nature and how it manifests in your current life situation is a key source of information for creativity in your everyday life that can support innovative changes in your professional\, relationship and physical lifestyles. \nDay 1: Dreambody: Your Body – Your Path \nIntroduction to the concept of the Dreambody: We will study and practice coaching tools to guide the awareness process of the client to discover the unique meaning of their issue and its relevance to the challenges that she or he is facing. You will work in pairs\, and also have a chance to observe demonstrations of various Process Work interventions\, including movement work\, imagery\, and “edge work”\, interventions that bring awareness to the client about how to work with inner conflicts that appear in connection to personal changes. \nDay 2: Lifemyth\, Chronic Symptoms\, Addictions\, and Your Deeper Purpose \nWe will study space and time invariant (timeless) aspects of the self (your essence or lifemyth) which show deepest aspects of who you are\, and your purpose in this lifetime. This can be helpful in working with your own chronic symptoms and possible addictive tendencies\, and can be applied to your vision\, professional development\, career\, and creativity. \nDay 3: Health\, Your Body\, and Your Social Identity \nThis day will focus on embodied leadership; issues of gender\, age\, movement\, sports\, and addictive habits\, and how your own deeper personal process might conflict with possible cultural habits. It will also focus on lifestyle and stress. \nWe will introduce and work with Process and health\, and how lifestyle and medical thinking about what is healthy and what is not healthy is connected to social and cultural identities. We will experience and study how lifemyth and personal dreams can be healing elixirs for cultural trances about how we should be\, live\, and relate. \nThis is also the first Module of 8 as part of our 2 year certification program.

SUMMARY:Deep democracy leadership\, large-group facilitation and coaching - DDI
DESCRIPTION:Presenters: Drs Ellen and Max Schupbach \nDeep Democracy\, developed by Arnold Mindell\, is a whole-system\, holographic paradigm that links individual development\, team development\, and world changes in one cohesive theory. It unifies elements of indigenous cosmologies\, modern physics\, and complexity theory\, as well as cutting-edge psychological research and perennial wisdoms in the world religions. The framework can be used to work on personal and professional development\, team development\, organizational development\, and universal world changes. Depending on your context\, it naturally shows the interdependence/connection between these processes at any given moment. \nDeep Democracy assumes that your personal “life myth” process\, our term for a deeper essential direction in your life\, is intricately linked to the organizing principle behind world changes\, and that the experiences we have in organizations\, teams\, relationships\, and in our inner lives are symmetrical\, local expressions of larger universal processes. \nProcess Work\, another term for Deep Democracy\, has a vast array of tools that assist in bringing these hidden structures to the forefront\, allowing creative\, often surprising solutions to spring out of complications. \nIn this six-day workshop\, we will give an overview of the theoretical approach\, and demonstrate skills that you can use for your own development\, work\, coaching with individuals\, and facilitating groups and communities in diverse settings. It is also serving as an introduction to our two-year training program\, starting in 2018.

SUMMARY:Book launch Sydney - Applying Deep Democracy in Human Services: diversity\, inclusion and innate power
DESCRIPTION:Author: Dr. Julia Wolfson\nModerator: Joanna Kalowski\nThe roll out of the NDIS makes Applying Deep Democracy in Human Services essential reading. One in 20 Australians depend on care to survive. They are not alone. One billion people across the globe of all ages – one eighth of our human community – are dependent on health\, disability and/or care and protective systems and providers. For millions of people\, everyday survival depends on caregivers\, supporters\, care programs and funding. The need may be temporary\, longer term or lifelong. Many people in these systems are lonely\, isolated and lack meaningful opportunities to participate and contribute. This book brings together a wide array of skills and pioneering approaches to revolutionise the way we design and facilitate person-directed services\, interact in all the helping professions\, and sustain those who devote their lives to the care and support of others. \nApplying Deep Democracy in Human Services is relevant for caregivers\, family members\, educators and direct support professionals\, and people who rely on support and care. This book is also important for policy makers and community developers\, facilitators\, leaders and develop caregivers and direct support professionals\, and build welcoming communities. Julia is an Australian\, and works internationally. This is a rare opportunity for you to put your comments and questions to her face to face. Joanna Kalowski\, international mediator and human rights advocate\, will convene the event. After the launch\, she will open the floor to questions and comments: we hope the exchange of ideas will be of use to you in your particular fields.

SUMMARY:Creative Resilience - Deep Democracy Institute\, San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:Presenters: Drs Ellen andMax Schupbach\nResilience\, the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties\, is a creative process through which you can discover your deepest nature\, your own essence which is time and space independent and in changing outer situations finds new forms to express itself. \nYour essence is like a special talent or gift\, related to a timeless and nearly un-namable aspect of who you are\, your mythic self. It is an essence that finds its expression in your present human form\, but exists outside of space and time. This means that it manifests throughout your life span in a myriad of ways as times and circumstances change and growth happens\, yet it is essential to who you are. It is simply nature\, like a star in the universe\, and a gift to others from a systems thinking perspective; it completes the intelligence of the whole. \nIn this workshop\, we will demonstrate how Process Work and Deep Democracy methods can be used to find your essence – beyond identity\, culture and even human form – and develop detachment from the daily polarizations of our outer world and the mind chatter of our inner worlds. This gives rise to new creative and surprising insights\, unpredicted directions and magically emerging energy and happiness due to the experience of rediscovering yourself. \nGroup Process allows us to experience this not only as an inner work practice but on the stage of the outer world; we can understand our individual natures as a gift and dance\, meant to enrich the lives of others. \nWe will study and practice deep democracy inner work and facilitation methods as well as concepts such as life myth in relation to complexity science\, and the interplay between our inner-work\, awareness of the multi-dimensional aspects of our experience\, and the unfolding of our lives. \nFormat: We look forward to learn and practice together during this seminar! The 2 days will include inner-work exercises to discover your own essential dance\, large group process\, and theoretical presentations. We also look forward to experiment further with collaborative learning methods.

SUMMARY:Deep democracy conflict resolution and mediation in action – DDI Nairobi\, Kenya
DESCRIPTION:Presenters: Drs Ellen and Max Schupbach\nConflict Resolution\, Prevention and Management for Individuals\, Teams\, Organizations and the Public Space\nArnold Mindell’s Process work\, also known as the Deep Democracy paradigm\, is to our knowledge the only paradigm that allows the facilitation of conflicts without a prior buy-in from stakeholders. It explains the creation\, flow and resolution of conflict in terms stemming from modern physics\, psychology\, and complex system theory. Its applications range from open forums on public hotspots to vision and strategy development in organizations. A key element of the approach is the focus on inner conflicts which reflect outer tensions\, and vice versa. \nDrawing on the phenomenon of polarization and symmetry named by quantum mechanics and linking it to process oriented theory in terms of identified and non-identified information\,  conflict resolution methods can be used to work with inner conflicts\, mediate legal differences\, coach individuals involved in conflict\,  and process a vast range of group issues – from small team conflicts to national public dilemmas that disturb our nation. \nIn this 3 Day workshop\, we will demonstrate and practice our conflict resolution methods. \nDay 1: Inner Conflicts and Relationships \nDay 2: Conflicts in Teams and Organizations \nDay 3: Conflicts in the Community and the Public Space

SUMMARY:Give what you have - take what you get! - advanced supervision seminar\, DDI Kyiv\, Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Dr Ellen Schupbach \nThis is a supervision and learning seminar for coaches\, facilitators and leaders and everyone who views their activities on this earth also as a spiritual journey. There will be exercises to do in pairs\, and opportunities for participants to work as coach or facilitator in a fishbowl setting to share learning and inspiration. \nGive what you have! Special focus in this workshop is to find out what gifts you are already using as a coach and facilitator so you can celebrate those and give them with even more purpose (and therefore joy!).We will also study how to use signal awareness\, senses\, and process structure for orientation and direction as you work with individuals\, pairs and groups. \nTake what you get! – We will practice noticing signals and the emotional presence of the client\, grabbing onto them and using them to show the way to discover the underlying process and flow. It’s all right there!! \nThis will also be a group and personal research journey on the process of learning itself – looking forward to learning together about how we individually and as a group learn best. What does it mean to learn? What moods and attitudes support or hinder our learning processes? How do our relationships impact our learning and teaching?
